Hmm. You could perhaps use a span-buffer and then send the spans to the chip to be rendered. This is the way the Quake V1k driver works AFAIK. The problem with a technique like this is that you would have to define the whole scene before doing any rendering. The v2x00 would just sit around doing nothing while it was waiting for you to send it data. The SDK docs make it very clear that you need to use overlap to obtain the maximum performance from the Rendition architecture.
Hmmmm, have to think about it more.
